Western Rajasthan is lacking in terms of the number of Self Help Groups and also the banking network is scarce there. It has resulted in to large number of poor getting financially excluded.

CmF works to strengthen the microFinance and livelihoods of poor in western Rajasthan by:

Working as ‘microFinance resource agency’ in special project called Mitigation of Poverty in Western Rajasthan (MPOWER) which is supported by IFAD, SRTT and Rajasthan Government

Capacity Building of local NGOs and linking them with NABARD and Donors for spreading and strengthening SHG movement

State Government and SRTT have entered in to a MoU. CmF will be the nodal agency for the project on behalf of SRTT. State Government has authorized CmF to initiate ‘Base line study’ of the project area. Cmf has also prepared a manual for village level planning which state government will use for all 900 villages in the project. A feasibility study of using Information Technology for financial inclusion in western Rajasthan has also been initiated. CmF will be putting up a team of 2-3 officers in Jodhpur to support and strengthen the microFinance component in MPOWER project.
