Rajasthan Microfinance Report

Community-level Livelihoods & Microfinance, 2014

Through year-round intensive efforts—including organizing a series of consultations, roundtable discussions, and gathering feedback—the Rajasthan Microfinance Reports are developed. CmF publishes these reports bi-annually, capturing the key trends shaping the microfinance sector in the state. The reports compile and analyze data from a wide range of stakeholders, such as government departments (e.g., DWCD, Rural Development), NGOs, microfinance institutions, government agencies, banks, SLBC, NABARD, SIDBI, and others. They provide a comprehensive overview of the status of microfinance in Rajasthan, delving into the challenges the sector faces and offering actionable suggestions for stakeholders. These reports aim to create a holistic understanding of the microfinance landscape in Rajasthan, serving as a valuable resource for practitioners and policymakers.

A Research Study on 'Loan Default by SHGs'

Community-level Livelihoods & Microfinance, January, 2010

CmF carried out a research study aimed at evaluating the causes behind “Loan Default by Self-Help Groups (SHGs)” and designing an early warning system to enable timely interventions to prevent defaults. This study was supported by the Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD). In collaboration with the Gujarat Institute of Development Research (GIDR), CmF explored key opportunities and challenges that must be tackled to expand the SHG movement in Rajasthan effectively.
