Nurturing Vibrant Libraries for Children: A National Conference

Colloquium 2024

One of CmF’s flagship initiatives is the Rajasthan Microfinance and Livelihoods Colloquium, a biennial event co-hosted by the FREND, CmF, and Tata Trusts. This Colloquium serves as a vital platform that brings together a diverse group of participants, including:

Abhivyakti 2024: A session where Self-Help Group (SHG) leaders meet to discuss their progress, challenges, and aspirations for the future. Abhivyakti, which translates to “expression,” is an annual event that aims to provide a platform for marginalized voices, promote cultural diversity, and inspire social change through art, media, and dialogue.

Stakeholder Round Table

Introducing policy makers and decision makers in Rajasthan to the India Consensus, and to the Rajasthan Priorities project and to describe the kinds of outcomes and results and how these can be used in prioritising policies. CmF organized a stakeholder round table to at hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur. The roundtable provided a first chance for participants to give their views and input on what are the key issues facing Rajasthan at this moment in time, and what are some of the solutions which they believed are important to the state and are worthwhile researching.

Dialogue - Education Beyond Education: Experiences of Strengthening School Libraries

CmF and RSCERT Udaipur jointly organized a 1-day dialogue on “Education Beyond Education: Experiences of Strengthening School Libraries”, celebrating the release of 200th weekly edition of “Hawamahal”, with the support of Tata Trusts and funding partners, including Mizuho Bank. Educators from all districts of the Udaipur zone participated. The district education officers, teachers and DIET principals shared innovative practices. The RSCERT Director Mrs. Kavita Pathak released the 200th edition of Hawamahal.

TT CEO Speech - Women's Equality Day Conference

Mr. N. Srinath, CEO, Tata Trusts addressed 10,000 SHG women associated with the State Rural Livelihood Mission (Rajeevika) of Government of Rajasthan on the occasion of Women’s Equality Day on 26th August 2022 at Jaipur. He was invited as a speaker along with 3 others – Ms. Susan Ferguson, Head, UN Women, India; Mr. Ajay K. Khurana, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda and Mr. K. Raju, Ex-IAS, AP cadre – associated with the SRLM in AP. The event was inaugurated by Sh. Ashok Gehlot, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Rajasthan and also saw the launch of the Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi – a community owned credit fund for SHGs. Mr. Srinath shared insights from the Trusts’ livelihood programs on women’s economic empowerment –including the work of CmF in Rajasthan. Library In-charge Teacher Trainings- RSLPP

Model Anganwadi Inauguration

01-06-2023

CmF organized a model Anganwadi inauguration event in Hindaun under ECCE intervention. The Model AWC was inaugurated by Dr. Prithvi Raj (IAS), Secretary of Agri & Horticulture (GoR) along with Ankit Kumar Singh (IAS) Collector Karauli, Rishabh Mandal (IAS), CEO Karauli, Suresh Kumar Harsolia, SDO Hindaun. In Karauli, we are implementing ECCE and FLN interventions with the support of Karauli education department & ICDS. 100 AWCs are developed as model sites in Hindaun & Todabhim to inculcate best practices of early childhood education and foundational learning. These Model AWCs are providing exposure and training to other AW Workers to replicate and expand the program, with ICDS officials and female supervisors playing a vital role. During inauguration in Dhindhora-1st Model AWC, the officials appreciated the demonstration of children's learning corners, locally developed TLMs being used by children. District & Hindaun block-level officials, local community members also graced the event with their presence.

Model Library Exhibition in G20 at Pune University

Pune hosted the 4th Education Working Group Meeting of the G-20. This event, scheduled from June 17th to June 22nd, 2023, featured a series of activities including seminars and an exhibition. The exhibition was held at Savitribai Phule University in Pune, showcasing best practices in education, FLN, digital initiatives, research and skill development. This exhibition inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Education Smt. Annpurna Devi on June 17th, 2023 and the Education Minister (Govt. of India) Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Maharashtra State Education Minster Mr. Deepak Vasant Kesarkar also visited the exhibition which was open to local institutions, students, academicians and researchers. We provided support to the Department of Education (GoR), in setting up a stall at the exhibition. During this exhibition, we showcased our Model Library, developed under the Rajasthan School Library Promotion Project (RSLPP), along with other resource materials aimed at strengthening FLN initiatives.
