Get To Know Us
Since our inception in 2007, the Centre for MicroFinance (CmF) has been driven by a simple yet powerful mission: to empower women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Rajasthan. What started as a journey to support women saving and borrowing together has blossomed into a 15-year legacy of growth, adaptation, and collaboration. At CmF, we stay rooted in the needs of the communities we serve, working hand-in-hand with local heroes, government initiatives, and like-minded organizations to build resilient, thriving communities.

Our Mission
At the heart of CmF’s work lies a vibrant commitment to sustainability—weaving lasting impact, shared wisdom, and community-driven momentum into everything we do. Our mission is to spark innovation, cultivate knowledge, and forge partnerships that ripple outward, amplifying best practices and transformative ideas across communities, non-profits, banks, and governments for a brighter, bolder future.
Empowering Through Training
Since 2007, we’ve been igniting potential through dynamic training and capacity building. From empowering Tata Trusts’ Sakh-Se-Vikas partners to equipping NGOs, banks, and government bodies with the tools of the Self-Help Group (SHG) microfinance model, we foster growth through research, workshops, and bold conversations on sectoral challenges.
Rooted in Technical Support
In 2009, we dug deep into the sands of West Rajasthan, providing technical support to SHG Federations and forging knowledge partnerships with state-led SHG programs. Our work strengthens the scaffolding of community resilience, ensuring every step forward is steady and sustainable.
Uplifting Livelihoods
By 2013, we were sowing seeds of empowerment through the Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojna (MKSP). This vibrant consortium project, woven with Sakh-Se-Vikas partners, connected SHG federations to the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), unlocking pathways to thriving livelihoods for women.
A Tapestry of Transformation
In 2015, South Rajasthan became the canvas for our Transformation Initiative—a multi-thematic masterpiece layering education, nutrition, water, and sanitation atop the foundation of SHGs and livelihoods. This holistic approach didn’t just change lives; it redefined possibilities.
Our Goals:
Building a Brighter Future
Stronger Community Groups
We empower leaders with training, establish systems for planning and financial management, and share proven practices. Stronger SHGs and FPCs translate to more income and better lives for their members.Better Livelihoods
Through sustainable farming, water-saving techniques, climate-smart tools, and local supply chains, we connect rural families to resources that boost earnings and dignity.Education and Skills
From enhancing early learning in Anganwadis and teaching STEM in tribal schools to offering career counseling for youth, we unlock opportunities for the next generation to thrive.
Our Approach:
Sustainability, Innovation, and Partnerships
Ensuring Sustainability: At the core of CmF’s work is a commitment to impactful, knowledge-driven, and community-led programs.
Promoting Innovations: We build and share innovative solutions across all the themes we champion.
Building Partnerships: By collaborating with community institutions, nonprofits, banks, governments, and more, we mainstream learnings and best practices for widespread impact.

Scaling New Heights
From 2020 onward, we’ve taken the lessons of our multi-thematic journey and scaled them across state-level partnerships in education and livelihoods. Our technical support lights the way, ensuring our learnings don’t just inspire—they transform systems and communities on a grand scale.
CmF’s Focus for 2025-2030:
As we look ahead, CmF is poised to shine even brighter—not by leading alone, but by walking alongside communities, governments, and organizations. Together, we’ll nurture what’s already growing: resilient communities ready to face any challenge. Our vision beats with three bold goals:
Stronger Community Groups
Better Livelihoods for Rural Women and Marginalized Communities
Education and Skills for the Young Generation
